  6. To the best  of our knowledge  this magazine was circulated  100% virus free. 
  7. However,  if you  have  copied this off  a friend, or  received it  from a PD 
  8. library make sure you keep  the disks write  protected - there is no need for 
  9. any of the software to write to the  disks. Write protect the disk BEFORE you
  10. first boot it to be safe.

  12. The disks  should be free of boot-block  viruses. A simple check to make sure
  13. the disk is free  of them is by booting it. You should  see a small THE FINAL 
  14. FRONTIER logo  when you boot either  disk. If you don't, but  the disk  still 
  15. boots, check it with a good virus  killer such as NO VIRUS, VIRUS X or MASTER
  16. VIRUS KILLER.

  18. Also there is NOT supposed to be a "L" directory, or a DISK VALIDATOR file on
  19. the  disk. This  is to prevent infection  from one  of the  new type  of Disk 
  20. Validator  viruses. However, to prevent read/write errors, we  DID use a Disk
  21. Validator  when we  created the  disk, but  it was  removed when  we finished 
  22. compiling each disk.

  24. If there  is either of these, remove them  IMMEDIATELY as they will more than
  25. likely be one of the new strain of Disk-Validator viruses going around.

  27. I'm giving this  warning, because this  magazine was almost  delayed by a few
  28. months as  all my disks with files I was working  on, plus all the disks with 
  29. the finished  files, were  infected with  the LAMER  EXTERMINATOR virus.  Not 
  30. funny!

  32. If you bought this mag from a PD libary and found that a virus was on it, let
  33. us know so we can try and stop other readers getting unwanted virus problems. 
  34. However, most good PD Libraries make sure  that their collections are free of
  35. all known viruses.

  37. We will get  the library, to check their copy of  the mag, and if they refuse 
  38. to co-operate  or offer  an apology in  their latest catalogue  then we  will 
  39. prevent them from distributing the disk in the future.
